Meditation Poem: On Seeing a Lovely Bird in Flight

As I traveled on the freeway, I caught my breath as a large black and white bird soared above me. After a deep breath, I realized I had to let it go and concentrate on the road. It seems to be a metaphor for life–and letting go while cherishing–the great moments.

Cherish the moment. Then let it go.

A fleeting memory. It must be so.

Place it in your heart where fine things stay,

And you will find it will never completely go away.
