One day I listened to the song “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day” and this rolled out of my soul as I found myself with a bittersweet mixture of fear and hope.
As we pause to meditate we’re grateful for life’s poignant plate.
Life’s not always easy; its onslaughts to endure.
But keep on dreaming of peace on earth – the tones so sweet and pure.
We can’t help think by dreaming, we’ll hang in there and plan.
And make it happen in our hearts, if not throughout the land.
Now as I hear The Christmas Song
I no longer sit and long for peace universal.
This is not a rehearsal.
It’s the real thing.
Let committed souls sing.
For when it’s not throughout the land
It lives in me, within my hand.
